Mental Health Travelling Counsellors

Mental Health Counsellors are designated to travel to First Nations communities to provide counselling and group work. These counsellors utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques that specifically work with individuals dealing with cognitive, behavioural, and emotional issues.

The goal is to help people experiencing psychological challenges to resolve or cope better. Enhancing overall well-being by solving problems, improving resilience, encouraging healthy behaviors, and improving relationships are key components of the work.

Counsellors are based in Sioux Lookout and are assigned to two communities each, rotating visits to each community.

Please contact Nodin’s Intake Department for any information regarding which communities have Travelling Mental Health Counsellors assigned to them.
