The SLFNHA Board of Directors is made up of representatives from Tribal Councils, Independent First Nations in the Sioux Lookout area, and two Elders.
The Board sets the strategic directions of SLFNHA and works to strengthen governance and processes. This includes clarifying roles and responsibilities and developing board policies and governance practices that incorporate Anishinabe ways. This involves finding the right balance between Anishinabe teachings and values, while also following the requirements of a corporate structure.
The Strategic Plans are developed and designed by the Board members. The SLFNHA President & CEO is accountable to the Board and responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan and for stewardship of resources.
