People & Culture – Human Resources

Human Resources (HR) contributes to the overall mission of SLFNHA by helping to build a strong and capable workforce that supports health services for the First Nations we serve. The HR department is responsible for providing leadership and support in areas such as talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, health and safety, staff health, training, and development. HR works to foster a supportive and culturally respectful workplace for all employees. As a First Nations organization we are continuously looking to promote First Nations employment and capacity building.

Finance

The Finance Department ensures responsible management of the organization’s funds, supporting programs and services through strategic budgeting, financial planning, and transparent reporting. We handle all accounting functions, grant management, and financial compliance to maintain fiscal integrity. Finance’s goal is to enable sustainable growth while ensuring accountability and efficient use of resources for community impact.

Technology & Health Systems

Technology & Health Systems ensures secure, reliable, and efficient operations of SLFNHA’s technical infrastructure. The IT and Clinical IT teams manage networks, servers, enterprise applications, and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. They oversee strategic planning, policy development, and governance for IT and health information systems supporting clinical and administrative service delivery across the organization.

Communications

The Communications Department (Comms) at SLFNHA manages all internal and external messaging, branding, and visual guidelines. Core functions include public relations, media relations, internal communication, and crisis management. Comms supports departments, the Executive, and Board of Directors with content creation, campaign development, and event support. Comms also manages channels like the website, intranet, social media, YouTube, YoDeck, newsletter, and print media. Comms also assists in developing strategies focused on engaging communities and ensuring messaging is accurate and culturally relevant. In addition, Comms also assists with event planning and Audio Visual (AV) support. Overall, Comms serves as a vital connector across all areas of SLFNHA.
