MEDIA RELEASE: SLFNHA Supports Sioux Lookout Food Bank with $13,200 Donation to Strengthen Local Food Security

October 30, 2025 – Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) is proud to announce a contribution of $13,200 to the Sioux Lookout Food Bank. While the food bank remains open to the entire community, this donation ensures that local First Nations families and individuals continue to have access to nutritious foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, and eggs.

“Food security is an important aspect of the work SLFNHA does. Access to nutritious and safe foods is essential for overall health and well-being. We know that food insecurity has become more of a challenge, especially for communities SLFNHA serves, and we are committed to supporting community-led initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives.” — Sonia Isaac-Mann, President & CEO, SLFNHA

For the past two years, the Sioux Lookout Food Bank has been including fresh fruits, veggies, milk, and eggs in its hampers for those in need. The organization’s existing funding for these items is coming to an end.

“This support from SLFNHA will allow us to continue providing these nutritious items in hampers for months to come. On behalf of our board and clients, I want to extend a huge thank you to SLFNHA!” — Amanda Landgraff, Manager, Sioux Lookout Food Bank

SLFNHA extends heartfelt appreciation to the Sioux Lookout Food Bank for their ongoing diligence and dedication in making food and nutrition support accessible to those in need. This collaboration underscores SLFNHA’s commitment to strengthening community wellness through practical and compassionate action.
