Orientation to Community/Family Healing Program

family healing pikto 2018.jpgSioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority’s Regional Wellness Response Program is accepting applications for its October 19-26 intake of the 6-day Community/Family Healing Program. This program will introduce concepts of healing and wellness for community, family and self through an Indigenous lens. It will deepen self-awareness, promote healthy life skills and provide participants with tools for relationship and parenting skills.

SLFNHA recognizes World Hepatitis Day

Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) took part in World Hepatitis Day on July 26, 2018. The event was at the Jeremiah McKay Kabayshewekamik Hostel at the Meno Ya Win Health Campus in Sioux Lookout.

This is the second year in a row that SLFNHA has participated in the event, and well over 100 people attended. The event provided valuable information and awareness on the disease while providing complimentary refreshments and cake.

“The highlight for me is always about speaking with hostel clients and families about the work being done around Hepatitis C,” said Shelly Archibald, Hepatitis C Treatment Nurse at SLFNHA.  Archibald also expressed the importance of dispelling the myths about the disease. In addition she wishes to express her gratitude to the Hostel staff for their assistance in the event.

The Official World Hepatitis Day is on July 28, 2018 is a coordinated event by the World Hepatitis Alliance. For more information please check out the SLFNHA Hep C Program  or through the World Hepatitis Alliance.

2018 SLFNHA AGM

The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority will host this year's SLFNHA Area Chiefs AGM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 to Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Lac Seul Event Centre, located in Lac Seul First Nation.

Chiefs from all SLFNHA communities are invited to attend. To confirm attendance, Chiefs are asked to complete the Registration form below and send back to us. If a community's Chief is unable to attend, the Chief & Council may designate a Proxy by attaching a proxy letter with their registration form. A sample proxy letter is also available below.
