SURVEILLANCE
 

 

  • Monitor Routine school screening for 4 and 14 year olds on reserve.

  • Review CXR Reports from clients on reserve.

  • Epidemiological monitoring of trends of TB Infection and disease.

  • Maintain a TB Database

  • Timely collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of data in order to:
    a) Identify TB trends in the community and
    b) Monitor and Improve TB Control Activities

  • Early ID of individuals who may have TB disease or infection.

NOTE: An individual may be infected by M. Tuberculosis yet remain symptom free for many years or for their lifetime.  The major screening test for TB infection is the TB skin test.
