Banff Truth and Reconciliation Summit

On October 29, 2016, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity held a Truth and Reconciliation Summit for participants to learn about and respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action. April 14, 2016

On April 14, 2016, members of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority met with the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development in Ottawa, to discuss the delivery of health care to First Nations people in the north. The meeting can be viewed here.

MenoYaWin Classroom

The MenoYaWin classroom is NOW OPEN and is located off the main lobby of the hospital.

The classroom is open to all learners from K-8 as well as high school and adult education. All Students are welcome in the classroom for any period of time whether it is only a few hours or a few weeks.

The MenoYaWin Classroom is open from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm. Families checking into the hostel are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to keep your kids engaged in school studies while in Sioux Lookout for medical reasons. See Poster here.
