TUBERCULOSIS EDUCATOR
 

Services offered and delivered by the TB Educators:

•  Provide education to Chief and Councils, Health Directors, Community Health Nurses,
   Community Health Representatives, Community members, cases and their contacts and
   other Health Care Workers;

•  Educate and support hospitalized TB patients;

•  Maintain TB resource library with education material available to all First Nations communities
   in the SL Zone;

•  Provide community education using community radio/TV, local newsletter, school programs,
   and community workshops;

•  Assist TB nurse(s) during community visits with screening, and follow-up activities;

•  Assist frontline workers in communities with medication compliance, heavy work loads related
   to outbreak, investigation and/or treatment, conduct home visits as required;

•  Witness Directly observed Therapy (DOT) for clients as required;

•  Work with community-based, on and off community health staff;

•  Incorporate community feedback into future community-based programs and initiatives;
